What Is the Microsite Tracking Report

The Microsite Tracking report contains view and click tracking data for a microsite you choose over a time period you specify. The report also contains information about views and clicks that were driven by your email sends. 

When you open the report spreadsheet, you see five sheets of data.

Sheet 1: Microsite Activity

Column Description
Unique Views The number of unique views your microsite received. Multiple views by the same person would be counted only once. 
Total Views The total number of views your microsite received. Multiple views by the same person contribute to this total.
Unique Clicks The number of unique clicks your microsite received. Multiple clicks by the same person would be counted only once.
Total Clicks The total number of clicks your microsite received. Multiple clicks by the same person contribute to this total.

Sheet 2: Landing Page Activity

 

Column Description
Page Name The name of the individual landing page in the microsite that the following columns apply to.
Unique Views The number of unique views the landing page received. Multiple views by the same person would be counted only once.
Total Views The total number of views the landing page received. Multiple views by the same person contribute to this total.
Unique Clicks The number of unique clicks the landing page received. Multiple clicks by the same person would be counted only once.
Total Clicks The total number of clicks the landing page received. Multiple clicks by the same person contribute to this total.

Sheet 3: Email Related Activity

Column Description
Email Name The name of an email that contains a link to the microsite.
Job ID The job ID of a send of the email that resulted in the tracking events in this row.
Send Time The send time of the send job of the email.
Unique Views The number of unique views of a landing page that resulted from this email send. Multiple views by the same person would be counted only once.
Total Views The total number of views of a landing page that resulted from this email send. Multiple views by the same person contribute to this total.
Unique Clicks The number of unique clicks of links in a landing page that resulted from this email send. Multiple clicks by the same person would be counted only once.
Total Clicks The total number of clicks of links in a landing page that resulted from this email send. Multiple clicks by the same person contribute to this total.

Sheet 4: Web Related Activity

Column Description
Page Name The name of an individual landing page in the microsite that the following columns apply to.
Unique Views The number of unique views of the landing page that came from web traffic other than links in emails. Multiple views by the same person would be counted only once.
Total Views The total number of views of the landing page that came from web traffic other than links in emails. Multiple views by the same person contribute to this total.
Unique Clicks The number of unique clicks of links on the landing page that came from web traffic other than links from emails. Multiple clicks by the same person would be counted only once.
Total Clicks The total number of clicks of the landing page that came from web traffic other than links from emails. Multiple clicks by the same person contribute to this total.

Sheet 5: Detailed Link Click Tracking

Column Description
(Page Name) The name of an individual landing page in the microsite that the following columns apply to.
URL The URL of the link on the landing page that was clicked.
Link Alias The tracking alias of the link on the landing page that was clicked.
Unique Clicks The number of unique clicks of the link. Multiple clicks by the same person would be counted only once.
Total Clicks The total number of clicks of the link. Multiple clicks by the same person contribute to this total.

Why Use the Microsite Tracking Report

Run the Microsite Tracking report to view tracking data from your microsite for a given time period. You can use this report to help evaluate the effectiveness of your email campaigns in driving traffic to your landing pages, as well as compare the likelihood of readers clicking one link rather than another.

How to Run the Microsite Tracking Report

  1. Click the Tracking tab. 
  2. Expand my reports
  3. Click Tracking Reports.
  4. Click Microsite Tracking Report.
  5. Complete the Report Description section:
    Field Description
    Report Start Date Enter the first date for which you want information included in the report. Tracking data from this day is included.
    Report End Date Enter the last date for which you want information included in the report. Tracking data from this day is included.
    Microsite to Report Against Select the microsite for which to run the report. The report will contain data for all the landing pages in that microsite.
    Time Zone Select the time zone for which to run the report. This value affects how the system interprets the Report Start Data and Report End Date.
    Date Format Select your preferred date format. This value affects how the system presents the date on the report.
  6. Select the Report Results Delivery option:
    • Save Report for FTP - Select this option to have the report file delivered to the Reports folder of your FTP directory. If you select this value, a field appears where you can enter the file name you want to use for the report.
    • Email the Report Results - Select this option to have the report file delivered to an email inbox. If you select this value, fields appear for you to enter the email address, subject line, and accompanying email text for the attachment.
    • Display Report Results On Screen - Select this option to display the report on your screen. It may take a while for the results to appear.
  7. If you choose the FTP or email delivery options, you can choose a Results File Format:
    • Data File (.csv) - Select this option to have the report generated as a comma-separated variable width data file.
    • Excel spreadsheet (.xls) - Select this option to have the report generated as an Excel spreadsheet.
    • Web Archive (.mht) - Select this option to have the report generated as a web archive file.
  8. If you choose the FTP or email delivery options, you can choose how to Run The Report:
    • Run the Report Immediately - Select this option to begin running the report when you click the Submit button.
    • Schedule Report to Run Later - Select this option to schedule the report to run at a later time, such as when system load is lighter. If you select this value, fields appear for you to choose the date and time to run the report.
  9. Click Submit
